  Do I need a non-slip pad or a cushion pad?

  A:

  Non-slip pads are best for high-traffic areas such as foyers and hallways, where thin rugs and runners are prone to slipping and sliding. Our cushion pads add a plush layer for large rugs already anchored by furniture, such as living and dining rooms. Should you decide you need a degree of both grip and cushioning, opt for a felt and rubber pad.

  Is this rug pad water resistant?

  A:

  Yes, Anchor Grip is a waterproof pad that works well in kitchens or other areas of the home that are prone to moisture.

• Q:

  Which rug pad works best with cork floors?

  A:

  All products from RugPadUSA are safe for all floors and finishes. Anchor Grip has been the most popular option for cork flooring. It is made from a soybean oil based polymer blend and its solid construction delivers maximum gripping power with moderate cushioning.

  Which pads are best for travertine tile?

  A:

  Our most popular pad for tile flooring is Anchor Grip, made of a soybean oil polymer blend. If your rug is larger than 8 x 10 and you want to add some extra cushioning, Eco Plush would also be a great option. However it is always best to contact your floor manufacturer to know which are the best materials for your particular floor.

• Q:

  What are the benefits of a solid design pattern vs open weave styled rug pads?

  A:

  There’s very little difference between a solid patterned rug pad vs an open weave rug pad with regards to performance. A solid rug pad puts more padding in contact with your floors, thus giving an edge with regards to floor protection. On the other hand, open weave rug pads such as Super Lock Natural provide more airflow and thus will pick up more dirt while vacuuming (Dirt is the #1 cause of rug degradation). A solid rug pad will also help prevent liquids from reaching your floors with spills and pet urine.

  Which types of rugs does Anchor Grip work well with?

  A:

  Anchor grip works well with all types of rugs and rug sizes. Anchor Grip’s low profile, solid design works well with hallway runners and rugs in high traffic areas.

  Which floor types is Anchor Grip safe for?

  A:

  Anchor Grip is safe for all floors and finishes as long as you follow your flooring manufacturer's instructions and wait for proper curing times. This includes hardwood, polyurethane finishes, concrete, stone, and tile. With low cost floor finishes such as vinyl and laminate, or less common floor finishes such as stained, waxed, acrylic, lacquered and linoleum - be sure to check with your flooring manufacturer to make sure a vinyl rug pad can be used safely. Our pads are engineered and tested comprehensively to avoid issues with staining and stripping, however, some vinyl and laminate flooring manufacturers may void your warranty if you don’t use a rug pad they recommend.

• Q:

  Does this rug pad contain any odors?

  A:

  No. Anchor Grip will not smell. Anchor Grip is made with higher quality low off gassing materials, including bio based oils and fillers.

  How thick is the Anchor Grip pad?

  This firm gripping soybean oil-based polymer blend pad is 1/8" thick.

• Q:

  I am interested in your Anchor Grip pad but can you tell me if there will be any seams in a 12'4" x 10'10" pad or a 15' x 12' pad?

  A:

  No, there will be no seams in either of these sizes of Anchor Grip rug pad.

  I plan to use a good quality thin tightly woven cotton dhurrie styled rug. Would your comfort grip be the best choice? I'm worried that the individual 'pillows' might give a dimpled effect, could this happen?

  A:

  Our Anchor-Grip pad, which provides exceptional tractino, is one option. Its design and construction provides additional padding on your floors, delivering maximum gripping power, floor protection and a comfortable level of cushioning. If you have a large rug, you might also consider our Eco-Plush pad, designed for larger area rugs that do not require protection against slipping.

  What pad do you suggest for a 2'7" x 11'10" hallway runner that gets a lot of traffic? And what size should the pad be?

  A:

  I recommend our Anchor Grip pad. Its powerful non-slip traction will stop your runner from shifting and sliding no matter how much foot traffic it receives. With regards to the correct size, just enter your runner's exact dimension and our free custom cutting service will cut the pad to fit.

• Q:

  What pad should I use under a stair runner?

  A:

  With stairs, you definitely need a pad that is going to keep the runner firmly in place. Therefore, I suggest you take a look at our Anchor Grip or Contour Lock pads.

• Q:

  I am looking for a rug pad with a good grip, and that can also be washed if one of my pets has an accident. Do you carry anything that will work?

  A:

  I would suggest taking a look at our waterproof Anchor Grip pad. It is 1/8" thick and can be hand washed. Do not use a washing machine.

• Q:

  I have a mold problem and want to know which pads will best protect the rug on my wooden floor.

  A:

  I recommend Anchor Grip for your needs. This waterproof pad is mold and mildew resistant and will form a liquid resistant barrier between your rug and the floor. We do have other waterproof pads but they do not have gripping attributes.

  Is the Anchor Grip pad very water resistant?

  A:

  Yes, our Anchor Grip pad is water resistant, but this doesn't mean it can be submerged in water or put inside a washing machine. This pad can help with light moisture and spills if attended to fairly quickly. What it does is create a liquid resistant barrier that temporarily prevents spills and pet accidents from seeping through to the floor below.

• Q:

  Can Anchor grip pads be washed? If so, how?

  A:

  When trying to clean our Anchor Grip pads we suggest just blotting with a damp rag/towel and then air drying.

  We are having new vinyl flooring in the bathroom and want throw rugs in front of the vanities and shower. We have been advised against pads with rubber/latex backing and wonder what we can put under the rugs that aren't going to stain the floor.

  I have a 2'7" x 11' runner and a 2'7" x 5' runner on hardwood floors. However, the rug pads under them keep slipping. Do you have a pad that will stick to the rugs and the floor without ruining the wood?

  I need a pad that won't leave any residue on hardwood. I want it to go under an elliptical pad so the two pads work together to prevent dents. Is Anchor Grip okay? Also, the price for a 2' x 7' Anchor Grip pad is showing as $34.95. Is this correct?

  The Anchor Grip pad is safe for your floor and will leave no residue, marks or stains. It will not harm it in any way. This pad is a soybean oil-based polymer blend that doesn't contain any rubber. The price you state is the correct one and you shouldn’t have any problems with the two pads working together. Anchor Grip is listed under laminates but it is safe for all types of floor.

  Is the Anchor Grip pad safe to use on laminate floors under any type of area rug?

  I have a rug with a jute backing that is to go on vinyl plank flooring. Do you have a pad that is safe for this floor and won't stain it?
