Hard laminate flooring is an excellent choice to have a beautiful floor on a budget, but it's all for nothing if your rug or rug pad damages the floor.
We have never had any issues with any of our pads damaging, marring, or staining laminate floor finishes in the last 10 years. However, due to the ever-changing nature of laminate floors, we recommend you contact your flooring manufacturer if possible. Some laminate flooring manufacturers say to only use all natural rubber rug pads while others say no rubber, so we highly recommend checking with your flooring manufacturer.

With uneven tile floors, rug pad thickness is especially important to make up for the uneven tile. We recommend getting a thick rug pad to keep your rug from wearing down unevenly.
Sometimes you just need your rug to stay in place on your tile. In that case, the best non slip rug pad for tile floor would likely be either superior lock (in 1/4" thickness or 7/16” thickness) for a thicker rug pad or Nature’s Grip for a thin rug pad.

Sometimes the type of rug or rug size will determine the type of rug pad that will be best for you. Whether you have a flatweave rug, area rug, needlepoint rug, runner rug, or any other type, we're here to help.
What Size Rug Pad Do I Need For My Rug?
We create rug padding for all different sized rugs, from a 12x15 rug pad to 3x5 rug pads and everything in-between. Need 8x10 rug pads? We’ve got you covered.
Simply enter your rug’s exact dimensions and we will cut your pad 1” to 1.5’’ shorter than your rug’s size. With thicker rug pads, we take 1.5’’ off on all sides and with lower profile pads we take 1’’ off on all sides, enough to keep the pad hidden from view.
All of our rug pads can be cut to any dimension you need.
Common Area Rug Sizes
Small And Throw Rugs (2x3 Up To 3x5)
The most common small area rug sizes range from 2x3 feet to 3x5 feet. Most 2x3 area rugs or 3x5 area rugs are used in small spaces, like next to the kitchen sink or outside of the front door. Depending on where your small area rug is located, you’ll want a rug pad that can stand up to the task. Small indoor area rugs are more likely to shift and slip with regular use, so they require better gripping to keep them anchored to the floor. We recommend our 3x5 rug pads, which offer a firm grip and low profile.
Medium Rugs (4x6, 6x9)
Most 4x6 area rugs and 6x9 area rugs require good gripping to keep them anchored in place. However, the thickness of the 4x6 rug pad or 6x9 rug pad depends on how your area rug is being used. For most medium sized area rugs, you’ll want a good balance of cushion and grip.
Large Area Rugs (8x10, 8x11 9x12)
If you have large area rugs, you want to be sure to get the right area rug pad for it. With area rugs, you often won't have to be as concerned with it slipping or bunching up because you can anchor it with furniture. However, it's good to think about a rug pad to protect floors and your rug from that heavy furniture as well as getting extra cushioning so it's extra comfy.

Natural Rubber Rug Pads
Natural rubber sheet rug pads are great for preventing slippage while still protecting your floors and being non-toxic.
Natural rubber comes from real rubber trees and is a more eco-friendly alternative to traditional PVC and plastic padding. It is safer for flooring surfaces than other rubber rug pads or rubber padding for carpet made with synthetic PVC, which can ruin your floors. Our natural rubber rug pads are guaranteed never to stain or discolor floor surfaces.

Felt Rug Pads
Whether you want a 100% felt rug pad or a natural rubber and felt rug pad, we have a variety of different premium rug pads to choose from. Our Eco-Plush felted rug pad is a great option because we use 100% recycled synthetic fibers from new unused carpet fibers and yarn.
The pads do not have any glues, bonding agents, or adhesives. They’re also safe on flooring, non-toxic, and eco-friendly. Our felt pads or felt and rubber pads come in a variety of thicknesses including 1/4", 3/8", 7/16”, and 1/2" depending on the level of cushion you want.

Do you custom cut your rug pads?
Yes, we professionally custom cut our rug pads to fit any rug dimension. All of our rug pads are cut directly from the roll by a trained staff member. Before adding a product to your cart, all you need to do is enter your rug's size and shape. We will take between 1-1.5’’ off all sides, depending on how thick the pad is. All of this will be detailed for you after you fill out the product form. If you have a more complex request, you’re free to offer alternative cutting instructions ("special instructions") as well.

Are your rug pads safe for my floors?
Yes, our rug pads are safe for all indoor flooring surfaces as long as you follow your flooring manufacturers instructions and proper curing times are met. If you are refinishing floors, it’s best to wait at least 30 days before using a rug pad.

Which rug pad is best for my rug?
Each rug pad has varying benefits depending on your rug type. Large rugs and carpeting may only require a cushioned rug pad whereas smaller area and runner rugs may need a non-slip pad to keep your rug from sliding out of place.
