  Which side of this rug pad do I place on the floor?

  A:

  Place the smooth surface up and stickier surface towards the floor. The upper surface has a built in waterproof moisture barrier which prevents liquid from reaching your floor.

• Q:

  Which rug types work well with Cloud Comfort?

  A:

  Cloud Comfort works best with rugs that lay flat on their own and are ideal for adding comfort to larger area rugs. Heavy rugs, wool rugs, and other higher pile rugs often match well with Cloud Comfort. With thinner rugs, such as flat weaves that tend to bunch up on their own, we recommend a non-slip rug pad to promote rug evenness and prevent bunching.

  Which pad is the best at soundproofing?

  A:

  With a density of 8lbs per cubic foot, Cloud Comfort 7/16" thickness is our densest pad and is best at soundproofing. Its 100% visco-elastic memory foam base provides a supportive layer between the floor and rug and is engineered to absorb weight and sound. If you are looking for a felt pad, Eco Plush 7/16" thickness is another option. Made of tightly woven, heat pressed felt fibers, it is our second densest pad and will provide excellent soundproofing.

  Does this rug pad contain any noticeable odors?

  A:

  No. Cloud comfort is odor free.

• Q:

  Which offers better cushion, felt or memory foam?

  A:

  Our memory foam rug pads are the most comfortable pad in our fleet. Eco Plush, our 100% felt rug pad, is a close second.

• Q:

  Do memory foam rug pads have any non-slip features?

  A:

  No. Cloud Comfort rug pads are made for larger rugs that do not require a non-slip grip. If you’re looking to add cushion to rugs that need grip, try our Felt + Rubber pads. Typically, rugs smaller than 7 x 10 or rugs that are not anchored down by surrounding furniture should use a non-slip rug pad.

  Which floor types is Cloud Comfort safe for?

  A:

  Cloud Comfort rug pads are made with 100% visco elastic memory foam which is safe with all floors. Be sure you always follow your flooring manufacturer's instructions and wait for proper curing times.

  What material are your foam pads made of?

  A:

  Cloud Comfort is made with 100% visco-elastic polyurethane foam. SpillTech is made with select rebonded foam. Cloud Comfort is made in part with soybean oils and natural minerals. SpillTech is also hypoallergenic.

• Q:

  Will cloud comfort flatten over time?

  A:

  No. Our memory foam pads come with a 20 year warranty and are guaranteed never to crush or flatten out over time.

• Q:

  Are your memory foam pads petroleum based? We have polished concrete floors, and the company that did them recommends we do NOT get a pad that is petroleum based.

  A:

  Our Cloud Comfort memory foam pad is not petroleum based. It is a 100% visco-elastic memory foam pad that's made with natural minerals and soybean oils. This pad has a very low VOC content and is safe for all floors and finishes.

• Q:

  I need a rug pad for cushioning a 12' x 15' rug. Also, I have dogs that sometimes pee on the rug. What pad do you suggest?

  A:

  I recommend the dreamy cushioning of our Cloud Comfort 7/16" rug pad which is made of 100% visco-elastic memory foam. This pad is also waterproof, providing a liquid resistant barrier that temporarily prevents spills and pet accidents from soaking through and reaching floors.

  What thickness do you recommend for a rug on a hardwood floor?

  A:

  Really, you can go with any thickness you want. If you are looking for the best cushion, it would be our 1/2" Cloud Comfort visco-elastic memory foam pad.

• Q:

  I am interested in your memory foam rug pad for an 8' x 10' area rug. Does it come in a 1/2" thickness or just 7/16"?

  A:

  The Cloud Comfort 100% visco-elastic memory foam pad and its dreamy cushioning come in 1/4" and 7/16" thicknesses.

• Q:

  Can a non-slip rug pad be vacuumed even if it's the memory foam Cloud Comfort?

  A:

  Yes, Cloud Comfort can be vacuumed as can all of our rug pads.

• Q:

  Could I use the Cloud Comfort pad for a rug that is slightly less than 8' x 10'? My partner really wants some cushy feel.

  A:

  Yes, you can as long as you feel that the rug will not move. For luxurious cushioning Cloud Comfort is hard to beat but note that it is not a non-slip pad.

• Q:

  For what circumstances do you recommend your Cloud Comfort rug pad?

  A:

  I recommend Cloud Comfort if you want to add a lot of cushioned comfort to a rug or if you need soundproofing. This visco-elastic memory foam pad is really for rugs that are 8' x 10' or larger.

• Q:

  My rug will go under the front legs of a couch, and I'm wondering if I can run the rug pad underneath as well. Or should the pad be cut shorter than the rug so it doesn't go under the legs? I’m looking at Superior Lock and Cloud Comfort 1/4" thickness.

  A:

  It will be absolutely fine for the pad to go under the legs of the couch no matter which one you choose.

• Q:

  Do the Cloud Comfort pads get stuck to floors? I have hardwood floors that I'm concerned about.

  A:

  No, the Cloud Comfort memory foam rug pad will not get stuck to your floor. Unlike low-quality pads, this pad is safe for all floors and finishes.

• Q:

  What is your most sound resistant rug pad?

  A:

  That would be the 7/16" thick Cloud Comfort pad. Just keep in mind that this pad is not non-slip. If you do need some grip, another good pad for soundproofing is the 7/16" thick Superior Lock.

• Q:

  How dense is the Cloud Comfort rug pad?

  A:

  The density of the Cloud Comfort rug pad is 10 lbs for every square foot.

• Q:

  I want some cushioning for my rug but I also need a moisture barrier. Will the Cloud Comfort rug pad provide the same protection as the SpillTech pad?

  A:

  Yes, Cloud Comfort provides the same level of waterproof protection as the SpillTech rug pad. It has a very effective liquid resistant barrier that protects floor surfaces by temporarily preventing moisture and spills from soaking through.

• Q:

  What is the impact resistance rating for a 9' x 12' Cloud Comfort pad?

  A:

  Unfortunately, we don't rate our pads that way. Cloud Comfort is the densest pad we offer and basically the thicker the pad the greater the sound absorption. Our soundproofing pads are good at what they do but this attribute is just a by-product as they were not specifically made for sound dampening.

• Q:

  Which side of your Cloud Comfort rug pad goes against the floor?

  A:

  When you look at the pad, you will see a shiny side. It is this side that faces up toward the rug.

• Q:

  Is there any big difference between the Superior Lock rug pad and the Cloud Comfort 7/16" pad?

  A:

  They are made with different materials. Superior Lock is a felt and natural rubber pad while Cloud Comfort is made from visco-elastic memory foam. This is the same material that is used in memory foam mattresses and it makes Cloud Comfort our most comfortable pad.

• Q:

  I have come across a couple of memory foam pads that have a fairly strong odor. Does your Cloud Comfort pad have a strong odor?

  A:

  No, it does not. Our Cloud Comfort rug pad is odorless.
