RugPro
Product Details
A low profile, high performance rug pad with strong gripping power, recommended for preventing rugs from slipping in high traffic areas. RugPro combines a thin layer of felt with a solid natural rubber backing. A coarse felt upper layer is designed to grab and hold the bottom of your rug to prevent rug shifting, bunching & buckling. A solid natural rubber backing keeps your rug firmly anchored to the floor while offering more floor coverage over traditional waffle styled rug pads. RugPro uses a natural rubber backing that contains more real rubber and less clay fillers, preventing premature flaking and degradation that often occurs with many latex backed rug pads. RugPro's solid design helps keep dirt accumulation from reaching your floors. RugPro is needle-punched using very small holes to allow rugs and floors to breathe.

Customer Questions & Answers
-
What rug pad is best for sisal rugs on hardwood floors, in front of doors?
We would suggest RugPro. It's a felt and rubber pad that's only 1/16th of an inch thick.
-
Which floor types is rugpro safe for?
RugPro is safe for all floors and finishes as long as you follow your flooring manufacturer's instructions and wait for proper curing times. With odd floor finishes, such as waxed, polished, vinyl, lacquered, and acrylic, be sure to check with your flooring manufacturer as some will recommend using a natural rubber pad while others will recommend using a vinyl pad.
-
Which rug types work well with Rugpro?
RugPro is one of our most versatile pads and can be used with all rug types and styles. With smaller rugs and runner rugs, RugPro will add the safety of a non-slip grip without the bulk of a thicker pad. With larger rugs, RugPro will add layer of floor protection while keeping your rug in place. RugPro, like all felt and rubber rug pads, work really well with low pile rugs, such as flat weaves. RugPro also works well with wool, tufted, knotted, and hooked rugs.
-
What type of backing does Rugpro have?
RugPro is made with a natural rubber backing. Our backing is engineered to avoid common problems such as floor staining and stripping that can occur with lesser quality padding.
-
Could rugpro be used with smaller area rugs?
Yes. RugPro works well with smaller rugs, especially if you're looking to avoid raising your rugs too high off the ground in high traffic areas.
-
Can your RugPro pad be washed in a washing machine?
We don't recommend putting any of our pads in a washing machine. We suggest blotting pads with a damp cloth and letting them dry in the air.
-
What is the height of your RugPro and Anchor Grip pads? I want to place something near the front door and need it to be soft and low profile.
These rug pads are made for low-profile applications and are approximately 1/10" thick, although RugPro might be very slightly thinner. Both are extremely effective non-slip pads, keeping rugs in place in high-traffic areas such as doorways. They provide underfoot softness too!
-
When measuring my wool/silk rug to figure out what size rug pad to order do I include the leather strips along the two longer sides? Or if I'm ordering the thinner RugPro size, will this not even matter, since it's designed to lie "flush" with the floor?
Just measure end to end width by length and we will cut that pad to fit exactly those dimensions. We always tell our customers to never count "fringe" so there is no need to measure the leather strips.
-
I’ve received my 8' x 10' RugPro pad, but it’s going to be six weeks, or so before I can put it down on the floor. Can it be left folded and rolled in the way it was shipped or do I need to do something else for storing it for that length of time?
I would just leave it as is. I don't see a problem with that at all.
-
I have a 5'x 8' thin/reversible (no backing) loomed cotton rug. Will Super Lock Natural or Nature's Grip keep it secure on a hardwood floor, or is RugPro the better bet for this size rug?
The best choice for you is RugPro, one of the strongest gripping non-slip pads we do.
-
I understand RugPro is excellent for thin rugs that require a little bit of cushion. We have newly refinished hardwood floors and have been advised that natural rubber is best. Is RugPro a good choice as far as protecting hardwoods is concerned?
Yes, this pad is made of natural rubber and is an excellent choice if you want a pad that is going to protect your floor for many years. Not only will the solid design prevent dirt from filtering through and damaging your floor but the backing has more natural rubber in it than latex-backed rug pads which are prone to premature flaking and degradation.
-
I have several questions for you. What is the felt in your RugPro pad made from? And is your natural rubber made from 100% natural rubber or are fillers or anything else used? Do you use the same rubber with fillers in the Super Lock Natural pad?
The felt is made from new carpet fibers, polyester, and yarn. We use clay fillers as well in the natural rubber but in much lower quantities than many other similar pads. We use the same type of natural rubber in all our rubber products.
-
I need a very thin rug pad to go on a hardwood floor by the front door. However, the rug it will go under is an indoor/outdoor rug made from recycled plastic (no fabric). Will your non-skid pads grip this type of rug? What pad do you think is best?
I would recommend our RugPro felt and natural rubber pad. This is 1/16" thick and it has the most powerful grip of all the pads in our fleet. However, I'm not sure how well it will work on your rug.
-
Which pad can I use under a hall runner to stop it slipping? I have a hardwood floor with a polyurethane finish so I need a pad that will not cause any damage.
I would say our RugPro pad is right for you. It is made of felt and natural rubber and will not harm your floor in any way. This pad is 1/16" thick and possesses a super strong grip that will stop your runner from moving.
-
What is the thinnest rug pad option for my doorways? My new floors don't leave a lot of clearance when doors open and close.
I recommend our RugPro pad. It is made of felt and natural rubber and is only 1/16" thick. This is our strongest gripping non-slip pad and therefore just the thing to keep doorway rugs and runners in place, areas that often receive a lot of foot traffic.
-
I have a natural lambskin rug which is very thick. What is the best pad option for this rug on a wood floor?
As it is a thicker rug, I would look at one of our low profile non-slip pads such as RugPro or Contour Lock. Both are made of felt and natural rubber.
-
What is the difference between RugPro and Nature's Grip? I need a pad for a hallway runner and am super sensitive because we are rescreening our floors owing to the damage done by our previous pads.
RugPro is made of felt and natural rubber and is 1/16" thick. Nature's Grip is made with natural rubber and natural plant jute and is 1/8" thick. Both pads boast an incredible grip that will stop your runner from moving. They also offer a very high level of floor protection and will not damage yours in any way.
-
Will the RugPro pad prevent dirt from filtering down through a rug and onto the floor? Before putting down our wood floors we had carpet and when we pulled it up with the pad, there was fine dust and dirt especially in the high-traffic areas.
Yes, our RugPro pad will stop dirt from filtering through. If dirt does fall through your rug it will land on top of the felt side of this felt and natural rubber pad. It will make no contact with the floor. When you decide to clean, just lift up the rug and vacuum the pad.
-
I need a thin pad, but one that's not sticky so that it can be pulled up easily. How thick is the RugPro pad?
The RugPro felt and natural rubber pad is 1/16" thick, making it our thinnest rug pad.
-
Is RugPro safe for wood floors and does it breathe?
RugPro is needle-punched with small holes to allow rugs and floors to breathe. It is a very safe pad for wood floors.
-
What is the thinnest rug pad available for a 3' round rug on hardwood floors?
That would be RugPro which is a felt and natural rubber non-slip pad. This low profile pad is 1/16" thick.
-
What do you suggest for a very thin indoor/outdoor rug that’s used in a screen porch during the summer? It doesn’t get any direct moisture but does sit on top of a Brazilian walnut decking material so there is air circulation. Is RugPro best?
Our rug pads are made for indoor use only. We don't recommend using one outside even if it's a screen porch. This is because our pads are not made to withstand outdoor elements that could possibly damage the floor and the pad.
-
What recommendations can you make for a 3'6" x 5'5" rug in an entryway? It is low pile and has a soft feel but is not flimsy at all. We want it to stay put.
I've got a couple of ideas for you. The first is our strongest gripping pad which also happens to be our thinnest pad and that is RugPro. This is a felt and natural rubber pad that will keep your rug locked in position. If you want some underfoot comfort as well as stability, you could look at the Superior Lock felt and natural rubber pad at 1/4" thickness.
-
What type of rug pad would be best for a kilim rug on a slick (fake wood) floor?
I recommend our RugPro pad. It is a low-profile felt and natural rubber pad with exceptional gripping power.
-
Is the rubber content of your RugPro pad natural rubber? I want to make sure it will not discolor my light wood floors over time.
RugPro is not 100% all natural rubber. There is a little bit of clay filler. However, it won't stain, discolor or harm your floor.
-
I need a rug pad to go on a hardwood floor under a 4' x 12' rug that our dogs play on. They chase the ball over the rug, and it slides. What do you recommend?
I recommend the strongest gripping pad that we sell and that is RugPro. This is a low profile felt and natural rubber pad that secures rugs firmly to floors.
